Dreamland Disc Golf Mural
I had an opportunity to create a mural for Dreamland in Dripping Springs. It was for their final hole on the disc golf course. I feel extremely lucky to have gotten a chance. The request was for something flying saucer related, I took it from there. Inspired by old pulp art and black light posters, I wanted to do something that stood out in the natural environment. I make the joke that it will be the first art I have created where people will be throwing things at it.
Proposed concept
Knowing there would be an opening in the side of the tank, I thought how the view from the front could be a beam coming down from the saucer by using contrasting colors. Once I saw the opening, the saucer had to be tilted back more for that concept to work.
